The Yin Yang symbol represents the Chinese concept that everything is made up of opposite but interconnected forces. 

Night flows into day, and day back into night. Warmth flows into coolness. While they seem to exist independantly, they are nothing wihtout each other.

The Yin Yang is hand carved by a master artisan from white mother of pearl, black pinna shell, and abalone, and set in sterling silver. The back side has a sterling silver evil eye design, which is a symbol of protection.
